Senior/Lead SQL Database Developer

• What you will do

• Database Design and Development: Design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient database solutions on the Azure platform;
• Data Modeling: Create and maintain data models that meet business requirements, ensuring data consistency and integrity;
• SQL Development: Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development and data reporting;
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks, optimizing queries and indexes for improved efficiency;
• Azure Integration: Leverage Azure data services, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Cosmos DB, to build and maintain database solutions;
• Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and data encryption to protect sensitive data;
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and minimize downtime;
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor database health, diagnose and resolve issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks;
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database schemas, configurations, and processes;
• Collaboration: Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide database support.

• Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
• Proven experience as a Database Developer, with a focus on Azure-based solutions;
• Proficiency in SQL programming and database design principles;
• Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Cosmos DB;
• Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting;
• Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance standards;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Nice to have

• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
